Meet the Doctors


Gregory E. Phillips, DDS, MSD

Dr. Phillips is a native Hoosier, growing up in Northwest Indiana. After attending Indiana University in Bloomington and graduating from Indiana University School of Dentistry (IUSD), he practiced restorative dentistry for 5 years. With the support of his loving family, he returned to IUSD to complete a residency in periodontics with a minor in oral pathology. After graduating in 1992 with a Master’s of Science in Dentistry and Certificate in Periodontics, he opened his current practice in Columbus, Indiana.

In addition to The Columbus Center for Periodontics and Dental Implants, Dr. Phillips is involved in dental education holding the position of Clinical Professor of Periodontics at IUSD and is involved with Spear Education in Scottsdale, Arizona. He maintains the Columbus Dental Forum, a study club for dentists in and around the Columbus area. He has presented at local, state and national meetings.

Dr. Phillips is a Past President of the Indiana Dental Association and has authored several scientific articles on periodontics and dental Implantology.  He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and has been awarded Fellowships in The American College of Dentists, The International College of Dentists, The International Team for Implantology and The Pierre Fauchard Academy.

Dr. Phillips resides in Columbus with his wife, Stephanie. They have two sons, Evan and Sam and an English Cream Golden Retriever named Roman.


Katherine E. Ferry, DDS, MSD

Dr. Ferry was born and raised in Columbus, Indiana.  After completing her undergraduate training at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), she attended Indiana University School of Dentistry (IUSD) for her predoctoral and periodontology training. Dr. Ferry graduated in 2022 with a Master’s of Science in Dentistry and a Certificate in Periodontics, with a minor in oral pathology.

Dr. Ferry is also a Clinical Adjunct Assistant Professor of Periodontics at IUSD and guides both pre-doctoral and graduate students during their education. She is a member of the Spear Study Club and has aspirations to lead an all-female study club group and study club meetings for both hygienist and assistants.

Dr. Ferry resides in Columbus with her husband, Brett. They have two children, Evelyn and Owen, with their newest arrival coming November 2022. Their Weimaraner, Oliver is kept company by their Aussie-Red Heeler, Jake, and their honeybees and laying hens.
