What services does a periodontist offer?
Our practice offers a myriad of specialty services. Some of our most common treatment options include:
Implant Placement
Implant placement involves surgically inserting a titanium post into the jawbone to serve as an artificial tooth root, providing a stable foundation for a dental crown, bridge, or denture.
Osteoplasty (Hard Tissue Recontouring)
Osteoplasty is a procedure that reshapes or recontours the bone around teeth, often to prepare the jaw for dental implants or to remove irregularities that may cause discomfort or hinder proper dental function.
Gingivoplasty (Soft Tissue Recontouring)
Gingivoplasty is the surgical reshaping of the gum tissue to create a more aesthetically pleasing appearance or to remove excess gum tissue that can trap bacteria and lead to periodontal disease.
Bone Grafting
Bone grafting involves adding bone material to the jaw to support dental implants, address bone loss, and create a stable foundation for future dental work, often using bone from the patient or a donor.
Deep Pocket Cleanings
Deep pocket cleanings, also known as scaling and root planing, are thorough cleanings below the gum line to remove plaque and tartar from periodontal pockets, helping to treat and prevent gum disease.
Crown Lengthening
Crown lengthening is a surgical procedure that removes excess gum tissue and bone to expose more of the tooth's surface, often performed to prepare for a dental crown or to improve the appearance of a "gummy" smile.
